CALET HV-Box

The Calet HV-BOX, the High Voltage system developed for CALET by SITAEL.

After the successful installation of CALET (Calorimetric Electron Telescope) on the ISS (International Space Station), a careful and comprehensive testing of all the sub-systems started. From the JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) control room the CALET HV-BOX has been thoroughly tested by checking, group by group, all its channels. The results were excellent, all channels work perfectly and the system is fully operational. The Calet HV-BOX is the High Voltage system developed for CALET by SITAEL. It powers the Calorimeter Photo-Detectors, by which CALET began to acquire Scientific data. CALET goal is the study of cosmic high energy phenomena and the search for dark matter.
The CALET HV-BOX, with its more than 100 channels, is the largest High Voltage system in stand-alone configuration ever sent into space.
