Industry 4.0 – SITAEL hosted the General Assembly of CONFINDUSTRIA Bari and BAT

November 23rd, 2016 – Mola di Bari – SITAEL’s headquarters hosted the General Assembly of CONFINDUSTRIA Bari and BAT, the Confederation of Italian Industry.
Around five hundreds entrepreneurs and authorities have attended the meeting focused on Industry 4.0, the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies.
During this occasion, Mr. Carlo Calenda, Italian Minister of Economic Development, presented the news provided for in the Government’s Plan, announcing that Bari will be one of the national Competence Centers leading the digital transformation of the Country.
Some of the most interesting local projects of Industry 4.0 have been shown during the Assembly and, in particular, they referred to energy waste during wheat processing, virtual show room represented in 3D, and smart Agriculture.
Mr. Vito Pertosa, founder of Angelo Investments, Holding Group of SITAEL S.p.A. (aerospace), MERMEC S.p.A. (railways), and BLACKSHAPE S.p.A. (carbon-fibre aircrafts), talked about the need to stay ahead of these innovations and introduced the latest projects developed by the Internet of Things (IoT) Dept. of SITAEL, in particular concerning connected solutions for eMobility and Vending Machines, as well as a volume measurement system for pallets developed by MERMEC.
