Thanks to the long experience in the design and development of space systems, a wide range of small satellite subsystems are designed by Sitael to satisfy the requirements of our main customers.
SITAEL AOCS & GNC systems range from Sun Sensors with an accuracy of 0.1° to Earth Sensors that work in the TIR region (7.5-14 μm) and able to provide roll and pitch angles with a foreseen accuracy of 1° @ 8 Hz, from Reaction/Momentum Wheels up to Cold Gas Micropropulsion System based on MEMS microdevice.
SITAEL power generation systems are conceived for small and low-costs satellites. Our solar array are based on space-grade Gallium arsenide (GaAs) high efficiency triple junction solar cells technology. Carbon fiber sandwich panels with Nomex® honeycomb core provide a reliable, efficient and lightweight substrate for the cells, thanks to the low coefficient of thermal expansion.
SITAEL designs and produces innovative solutions based on COTS components. ADCS and OBDH boards are based on ST Cortex M4 microcontroller, 128Kb Flash, 72+ MIPS. Both OBDH and ADCS controllers are in cold redundancy and the software architecture is based on a realtime operating system. Also the redundant transceiver boards are based on ST Cortex M4 microcontroller and CC1010 RF transceivers for UHF VHF communication.
