Power Generation


SITAEL power generation systems are conceived for small and low-costs satellites. Our solar array are based on space-grade Gallium arsenide (GaAs) high efficiency triple junction solar cells technology. Carbon fiber sandwich panels with Nomex® honeycomb core provide a reliable, efficient and lightweight substrate for the cells, thanks to the low coefficient of thermal expansion.


SITAEL Solar Panel (SP) is a small satellite electrical generator device configurable to meet the requirements of the most common small satellites buses. The SP is based on qualified AZUR SPACE 3G30A 40×80 solar cells with coverglass and interconnections provided by the supplier.

SITAEL Battery Pack (BP) is a small satellite energy storage device configurable to meet the requirements of the most common small satellites buses. The BP is based on industrial grade Li-Ion 18650 cells. The battery cells are interconnected with nickel tabs, preformed to provide stress relief and welded with a spot welder. Each cell connection has four separate spot welds, for redundancy but any single spot weld provides an adequate electrical and structural connection.
